Lakewinds Co-op, Chanhassen
Lakewinds Chanhassen store has one of the largest solar electric systems in the area. Their 9.9 kW system consists of 57 175 watt panels that produce about 12,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, saving the store about $52,000 in electric bills over 30 years.
The system is expected to offset about 25,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide each year, which is the equivalent to planting about 4 acres of trees.
